Hi, I’m Natasha and I am a skincare junkie.
Please join me as I explore new products and share what I’ve learned from the latest research, books and other blogs about skincare.
These details color my experience with products and should be kept in mind when reading my reviews.
1. I’m of Irish/Norwegian heritage with red hair and pale skin. This fuels my quest for the most effective sunscreen. I’m at high risk for skin cancer and have had relatives with skin cancer; it ain’t pretty, but it can be avoided with diligence, and cured if caught early and the treatment followed.
2. I am staring 50 in the face…not quite there, yet, but middle-aged skincare issues are my thing. I don’t get acne anymore — just the occasional hormonal or climate shift break-out that’s easily contained. I do worry about cumulative sun damage, freckles and age spots, wrinkles, brightness, sagging and under-eye circles.
3. My hair is exhuberant. It’s wavy-curly, and has a life of its own if I embrace its natural texture. I use henna to keep my wisdom (aka gray hair) from showing too much. I am not a big fan of chemical ways of taming hair into submission. I will use a blow-dryer (with diffuser) or a flat-iron on rare occasions. I am lucky enough to live somewhere with mild weather year-round so I never have to worry about icicles in my wet hair unless I’m visiting the in-laws… so you probably won’t see many posts dedicated to things I don’t use.
Other info about me:
I am a mild-mannered administrative assistant for a catering company by day, and a henna artist on week-ends. I live near San Diego with my husband and 2 cats.
