This was a much better week fitness-wise than last week. Celebrating 1 kg lost (that’s 2.2 lbs) and another inch gone from my waist. The underarm is still holding steady…but I have high hopes that repeated kettlebell routines and basic pushups will start having an effect on that stubborn area…
I was at my local library and checked out Denise’s Daily Dozen: The Easy, Every Day Program to Lose Up to 12 Pounds in 2 Weeks by Denise Austin. And her secret to losing 12 lbs in 2 weeks: 2 miles of cardio 6 days per week, 6 days of strength training (a different work-out each day) and 12 fruits and veggies per day. Definitely inspiring.
I got a pedometer and discovered that I cover about 1.6 miles each morning… not quite 2. Good to know. It also means that my pace is just a smidge under 15 minutes/mile. Also useful information.
Unfortunately, I won’t get a chance to really try Denise’s plan for a few weeks. We are heading off to Aspen, Colorado for hubby’s conference next week. I hope to get in a lot of exercise, but I am sure the diet is going to go out the window. I can only hope that cross-country skiing and snowshoeing will counterbalance the gustatory excesses. The hotel also has a heated pool…which actully sounds a bit more my speed. After more than a dozen years in the Southwest, I have lost all internal anti-freeze — not to mention all the wool clothes from my closet…
I’ll keep you posted once I get there.
The usual blog schedule will also be on vacation.
Do you enjoy the snow? What’s your favorite cold-weather activity?
